40 years ago: Goodrich plant taken over by Converse

From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for May 20, 1972:

The Lawrence footwear distribution center of the B.F. Goodrich Co. was to be taken over and operated by the Converse Rubber Co. of Malden, Mass. The change, expected around June 30, was not forecast to bring any immediate changes to the 90 persons employed at the Lawrence facility. BFG had announced on April 4 that it was going out of the footwear business, while Converse, specializing in basketball shoes, was beginning to branch out into other athletic and rubber-soled footwear.
