A 7-year-old boy was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with serious injuries after he was struck by a car at the intersection of Harvard and Centennial roads.

Lawrence Police Sgt. Troy Squire said the accident happened about 5:40 p.m. as the bicyclist headed south and car, west into the intersection.

I also send my best to the family, both of the boy and the car.

I hope the little boy recovers.

It didn't mention anything about the car driver, but I supposed if it had been a hit and run, the article would have stated such a fact. I feel sorry for the driver, I wouldn't want someones life/health on my conscience -- especially a little child.

I pray for this child and family. I had my 6 year old read this article to me this morning to try to teach her that Moms and Dads say watch for cars for a reason. Be safe.

Terrible news. Thoughts and well wishes to the family.
