Douglas County prosecutors have filed misdemeanor charges against a 24-year-old Lawrence man accused of driving two children to school April 24 while he was intoxicated.
An arraignment for Eric L. Worcester is scheduled for June 19. According to court records, prosecutors have filed two counts of endangering a child, DUI and failing to observe a stop sign. District Judge Paula Martin didn’t find probable cause that Worcester was transporting an open container and dismissed that misdemeanor charge.
According to Lawrence police, at 8:30 a.m. April 24 an officer pulled Worcester over for a stop-sign violation in the 1600 block of University Drive, and upon investigation officers determined the man was intoxicated while driving two children, ages 6 and 8, to school.
Worcester was initially taken to jail, but he was released the next day after prosecutors asked for more time to review the case before filing formal charges.

If you are still drunk at 8:30am during the week, it is time to reevaluate some lifestyle choices.

You don't know the whole story. Maybe he works night shift and doesn't start drinking until first thing in the morning (when he gets off work), and possibly his days off are during the weekday.
Not everyone works 9-5 M-F.
If you drive drunk with your kids in the car (regardless of the day of the week and the time of day) you need to reevaluate some lifestyle choices.

I don't think anyone is blaming God.
