A 27-year-old Lawrence woman was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Tuesday night with minor injuries after a two-vehicle accident on Ninth Street.

Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence police spokesman, said the woman, Nandini MacMillan at 10:18 p.m. had slowed near Ninth and Mississippi streets when she was rear-ended by the driver of a 1992 Honda Civic, Erik Dubois-Brooks, 18, of Perry.

Dubois-Brooks told police he was headed west in the intersection, looked away for a moment and when he looked forward again, MacMillan’s vehicle was stopped in front of him.
