— Kansans who had to wait a week to conduct business at Division of Vehicles offices can get back in line.

The offices will reopen across the state Tuesday, after being closed for a week while a new computer system was installed.

The Kansas Department of Revenue is asking for patience from residents, saying employees will need time to adapt to the new $40 million computer system.

The department says the new computer system will make filing paperwork more efficient and cost effective.

I was just there. They are unable to issue new license plates. Your tax dollars at work.

This story needs updating. The system failed again today, and a backlog is expected tomorrow.

Was also there and they couldn't issue license plates. Of course the staff said nothing until I got in to the front of the line I had been waiting in for at least 15 minutes. It is not the clerks fault, of course, but it is not the publics either.
