A 22-year-old Topeka woman staying at Jayhawk Motel, 1004 N. Third St., reported a stranger knocked on her door, burst into her room when she opened the door and grabbed her.

Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence police spokesman, said officers were called at 1:43 a.m. The intruder released the woman after she screamed, and he walked away. McKinley described the suspect as an unshaven white man in his early 20s, 5-foot-7, about 225 pounds.

McKinley said the woman was not injured. Police were still looking for the suspect.

Who could have possibly seen this coming at a classy place like the Jayhawk Motel?

Some might call it blaming the woman, but I've got it estimated at an 80% probability that anything happening at that motel has drugs involved.

Down on your luck and you need a place to stay that's affordable. No one can tell by the article if this person needed to get away from a difficutl situation, family problem, marriage issue, etc. What she doesn't need is to be confronted by some creeper!! Thank God she wasn't hurt and raped!!! It is easy to blame it on the woman, but accidentally opening the door is not a crime, rape and assault is!!!!!!!!
