A Lawrence woman’s minivan that was reported missing was found abandoned on Kansas Highway 10 east of Lawrence Thursday morning.

Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence police spokesman, said police received a call about 4:38 a.m. Thursday about a man reportedly checking for unlocked car doors in the 1500 block of East 23rd Street. About 20 minutes later, officers were notified of a vehicle without lights on traveling east in the westbound lanes of K-10. Police later found the minivan abandoned in the median just outside the city limits near Noria Road.

The owner of the van, a 1990 GMC Safari valued at $1,000, reported her vehicle missing from the 2200 block of Harper Street, which is just a few blocks from where police originally were called. The keys were not with the vehicle when officers located it, but they did find a suspect in the area and questioned him. No one was arrested, but McKinley said officers sent information about the case to prosecutors.

These bums also hit around the 15th-19th parts of Kentucky. In fact, one of em got in 2 weeks ago. Nothing in my car to steal as they have gotten it all last year. My car is a piece of junk (sorry car, thanks for running) and looks every part of it. Looking at my car would not inspire anyone to think that it had anything of value in it but that don't stop the bums. God help em if I ever catch em, I do not own a gun and don't need one to jack their piece of chit life Many things I do not like but I hate thieves!
