Police identify Edwardsville gunshot victims

? Edwardsville police have identified the men who died in a shooting incident Monday as local residents.

Police discovered the two men dead of gunshot wounds late Monday afternoon in the basement of a home at 505 High St. Detective Roger Golubski said the men have been identified as David McKay, 43, who lived at the address, and Javreese Lockett, 28, who lived in an area just outside of Edwardsville in Kansas City, Kan.

Police received a 911 call of shots fired about 4:20 p.m. Monday. The call was made by a woman who lives in the house who was home with a 4-year-old child and heard the shots fired in the basement.

Investigators believe the incident is a possible murder-suicide, and Golubski confirmed that police are not looking for suspects at this time. But he said confirmation that the incident was a murder-suicide must come from the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office. He also declined to indicate which of the men may have been the shooter in the situation.

Golubski said the case has been turned over to the district attorney for review.
