KU men’s golfer McClure tied for 7th at Desert Shootout

? Kansas University freshman golfer Dylan McClure carded a 4-under 68 to tie for seventh place after the first day of the Desert Shootout on Thursday.

The KU men’s golf team sits in sixth place.

“Dylan got off to a great start,” Kansas coach Kit Grove said. ” … He was off to the races after he birdied four of his first five holes. On the back nine, he made a bunch of pars and a bogey, but he birdied the last one, so that was good.”

Other Jayhawks who played on Thursday were Chris Gilbert (1-under 71), Alex Gutesha (1-over 73) and Paul Harris (1-over 73).

Kansas will begin the second day of the tournament at 10:15 a.m. today. The three-day Shootout will conclude Saturday.
