Lawrence police arrested a 35-year-old man Thursday morning as a suspect in recent vehicle burglaries in west Lawrence.

Kim Murphree, a police spokeswoman, said officers were called about 8 a.m. Thursday to Saddlebrook Townhomes in the 600 block Folks Road about a possible auto burglary.

Officers then located a man in the nearby parking lot of the Hy-Vee store matching the description of the suspect. Police had also received a call 25 minutes earlier about a man walking down the street in the area.

Murphree said officers recovered from the suspect items taken from automobiles. Several of the items were returned to victims, and police took the man to jail on two counts of vehicle burglary and two counts of theft.

Prosecutors are reviewing information to decide about filing formal charges.

Filing charges should be pretty much of a slam dunk at this point.

Cut off one finger. If he does it again, another finger. The problem will solve itself after a while.

As opposed to probation? With restitution that won't happen and/or will cost more to implement than will yield.

We all know prison is not cost effective.

I hate it when someone else puts me in a lose/lose situation and then complains that the choices I make are bad. Throw it back on him. Lose a finger or 10 years of very harsh prison time. He's the criminal, why force the bad choices on me. Let him choose.

Well, you've dropped the question mark from your earlier comment, so I'll assume you now agree with my comment. If only everyone in the forum were so easily persuaded. :-)

I can suggest a few foreign countries to which you could relocate. Sounds as though you'd fit right in.......

So you're suggesting that a hard working, law abiding, tax paying citizen leave the country for expressing an opinion. And for the criminal?

Hang him up by his Brownbacks and lob off his Santorum! No place in this world for thieves

bad_dog 2 years, 9 months ago

"Lop" dude, not "lob"! To "lob" one must first place their hand upon, then grasp an offender's "Santorum" before rarin' back & flinging it like a water ballon...

In addition, lobbing is facilitated by lopping, particularly if the "lobber" is going for distance.

Hope that helps...
