Lasting mystery

Will the latest clue be the one that solves the Amelia Earhart mystery?

Someday, maybe someday soon, the mystery of Amelia Earhart’s disappearance will be solved.

Earhart searchers have revealed a new clue they believe may lead to the wreck of her plane near an island in the South Pacific. Many other clues to Earhart’s disappearance during an attempted around-the-world flight have led nowhere, but, you never know, this might be the one.

The disappearance of Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, on July 2, 1937, is one of the world’s most enduring mysteries. It’s a story that continues to attract dedicated investigators, as well as many more casual observers. It’s of special interest to Kansans, who claim native Kansan Earhart as one of their own.

With today’s technology, it would be next to impossible for an airplane to simply disappear and never be found. There are very few mysteries left as compelling as Earhart’s disappearance. It would be interesting to finally learn more about Earhart’s fate, but it would be a little sad to lose the mystery.
