Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Eagle Bend Golf and Learning Center, 1250 E. 902 Road, is offering its first Swing of Spring event Wednesday.

Eagle Bend will open at 7 a.m. with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. There will be free range balls for everyone with a tee time throughout the day.

Free clinics also will be offered throughout the day, including:

• 10 a.m.-11 a.m. — SNAG (Starting New at Golf) G-Ball Clinic for all ages.

• 1 p.m.-2 p.m. — Putting clinic with John Morris, golf course operation supervisor, and Greg Dannevik, assistant golf course operation supervisor.

• 4 p.m.-5 p.m. — Range clinic with Morris and Dannevik.

The SNAG G-Ball program is described as golf’s version of T-ball. It is an activity-based program focusing on progressive and developmental play in a noncompetitive format, as well as an initiative designed to connect youths and adults to the outdoors and increase engagement with golf and recreational sports.

Individuals may set tee times online at www.lprd.org or by contacting the Eagle Bend pro shop at 748-0600.
