Seabury girls advance

? Seabury defeated St. Paul in the sub-state semifinal at St. Paul, 58-43, Friday to advance to tonight’s Class 1A sub-state final against No. 1 Waverly.

Courtney Hoag scored 23 points, with five rebounds, three steals and four blocks.

Alexa Gaumer, who shot 11-of-11 from the free-throw line, scored 22 points, with eight rebounds and five assists.

Riley Malone scored six points, Rachel Dominguez four and Sarah McDermott three points, with five rebounds.

“Defense won the game for us tonight,” Seabury coach Becky Bridson said. “We threw a zone at them in the second half.”

Seabury led 27-22 at halftime.
