40 years ago: Accident causes injury at KU construction site

From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for March 3, 1972:

  • Rick Anders, 23, was pictured being carried on a stretcher from the construction site of the Kansas Geological Survey building west of 19th and Iowa. He had been injured when scaffolding had fallen on him from the floor above as he worked on the ground level. Mr. Anders was later reported as being in good condition at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
  • Another worker injury was reported at an area 2 miles east and 1 1/2 miles south of Kanwaka Corner, west of Lawrence, when a man had been injured after falling from a power pole. The Douglas County Sheriff’s office had been called and an ambulance dispatched to the area.
