A 22-year-old Muscatine, Iowa, man reported to Lawrence police Saturday afternoon that he was robbed of his wallet early Saturday in the 900 block of Maine Street by a man who hit him and took his wallet.

The victim reported to police he had minor abrasions and did not require medical attention, Murphree said. The man alleged that at 1 a.m. Saturday he was walking home from downtown with two female friends when they got into a car driven by two men who offered them a ride.

The driver drove past their destination but stopped the car a block away when the victim and two women, who were not injured, jumped out of the car. The alleged robbery occurred then, and the two suspects eventually drove away to the west, Murphree said.
