Gas service cut off to apartments on Wimbledon Drive

A contractor working in the 4300 block of Wimbledon Drive before 3 p.m. Tuesday struck a two-inch natural gas main line that caused two apartment units in the area to lose gas service, said Curt Floerchinger, a Black Hills Energy spokeswoman.

Floerchinger said the street had to be closed down for part of Tuesday afternoon while technicians turned off the gas because of the incident. A Black Hills field resource center staffer was scheduled to return to the apartments later Tuesday to help turn gas service back on at the two residences.
