Man to serve 38 months for robbery

A Douglas County judge on Monday sentenced a Kansas City, Kan., man to serve a 38-month prison sentence for his role in a 2008 Lawrence armed robbery.

District Judge Kay Huff handed down the sentence to Christopher J. Jackson, 23, according to Douglas County District Attorney Charles Branson’s office.

Jackson pleaded guilty to robbery and aggravated assault in February, admitting he stole a safe in a robbery and used a gun to scare or intimidate a woman in the house the morning of Dec. 3, 2008.

Prosecutors accused Jackson of taking part with a number of co-defendants in the robbery of an alleged drug dealer who lived in the 3400 block of Augusta Drive.
