— Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback says he's taking a family vacation to celebrate his 30th wedding anniversary, but he and his staff are not disclosing details.

The governor let his plans slip Wednesday when he was asked at a news conference if he'll campaign for fellow conservative Republicans before the Aug. 7 primary election.

Brownback said the vacation starts Friday and will last the better part of a week. He declined to say where he's going.

Spokeswoman Sherriene Jones-Sontag also wouldn't provide details, saying the governor and his family want privacy.

This man is celebrating his anniversary. Forget about politics for a second. Can't you even congratulate him for a personal milestone that most people can't even reach?

Sam's headed to London whereupon he will given priority seating provided by the Romney clan in witness Ann's entry in the equestrian events. Coming up short of a medal, MITT will offer the VP slot to the governor and arrive back in the states with a Brownie instead ..

Maybe Obama will let him use Air Force One in between all his vacations, golf and fund-raising events.
