Pittsburg Trevor Champagne scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch, and Troy Willoughby closed out the Tulsa Tide black team for a 5-4 Lawrence Raiders victory in nine innings on Sunday.
Willoughby picked up a complete-game win against the Tide’s blue team, 8-3, on Saturday.
Tulsa struck first, plating four runs in the second inning, but Lawrence came back to force extra innings with two runs apiece in the fourth and seventh. Champagne led off the top of the ninth inning, reaching on a three-base error before taking advantage of the errant pitch.
The game concluded the Raiders’ weekend at the Pittsburg tournament.
Lawrence (22-11) will host the Topeka Capitals at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Lawrence High.
