100 Good Women plans benefit concert on July 26

Lawrence community group 100 Good Women is having a benefit concert from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 26 at the Jazzhaus, 926 Mass.

The group collects and disseminates requests from men, women and families for temporary assistance such as donated furniture, gift cards for groceries and clothing for job interviews.

“We give short-term help to people who have fallen through the cracks of ordinary social services,” board member Mary Howe said.

The benefit will feature music by the Prairie Village People, a primarily ’80s cover band, and the cost is $5. A raffle for a pair of Martin Logan speakers also will be held. Tickets for the raffle are $10. The money raised will go toward buying grocery cards and other commonly needed items for donation, Howe said.
