Kansas Poet Laureate Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg will be holding a book launch celebrating the release of her first novel, “The Divorce Girl.”

The event will be held 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Jewish Community Center, 917 Highland Drive.

“The Divorce Girl” is 17 years in the writing, and is the coming-of-age story about a teenager in 1970s New Jersey who finds healing and transformation through the community around her and making art while dealing with her parents’ divorce.
