— Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback will lead a delegation of state and local officials heading overseas to promote aircraft built in the state.

The Republican governor will be joined by Commerce Secretary Pat George and representatives from the Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition in attending the Farnborough International Airshow in England from July 9 through July 15.

The delegation will be seeking to expand export markets for Kansas aircraft. The state exports more than $2 billion in aircraft, accounting for more than 18 percent of all exports coming from Kansas.

Brownback says officials will be promoting the Kansas business climate for new job creation, including recent changes to the state's income tax code, as well as the Kansas work force.

Whatever became of the New Civility? Disappointed progressives seem all inflamed on this thread.

The only thing Brownback will bring back from England is a miniaturized Big Ben toy. People in Europe pay attention to US politics and they know perfectly well that people like Brownback are completely backwards.

I saw 'English Air Show" and thought oh dear god please breathe deeply. England has some of the dirtest air I have ever seen in my life. When do these politican types figure out business don't really care that much about tax friendly...unions? maybe. tax friendly? Not really. Just another fixed cost and part of doing business.

and really FHNC, what in the hell are you even talking about? You and BAA must get some really belly rolls while all the rest of the readers skip on by shaking their heads.

He has to get through immigration first (one and a half hour lines) and assuming he flies business class the cost is in the order of $5000 dollars a head plus hotel car etc

Boeing is still open you moran, it just moved some jobs out of Wichita.

Airbus would have moved to "Kansas" but determined it was too complex and Liberal.

So they moved to Alabama where 'Unions' suck and 'religion' is all that.

Had complex "First Gay President" not gutted defense, Boeing would still be open.

Too bad. So sad.

Oh no. Potential for even more embarrasment for the state. I hope he doesn't hold a public prayer meeting at the air show. (RIck Perry's not going to is he?)
