Kansas Highway Patrol plans saturation patrol this weekend

The Kansas Highway Patrol will conduct a saturation patrol in Lawrence and Douglas County Saturday night as troopers will be on the lookout for impaired drivers.

Lt. Keith Hudson said troopers will also focus on aggressive drivers and other traffic offenses during the patrol in the area from 5 p.m. Saturday to the early morning hours on Sunday.

Grant funds from the Kansas Department of Transportation will fund the patrol. The highway patrol performed a similar operation in Douglas County in December.
