Kenner, La. Former Kansas State and Tulane football coach Vince Gibson has died. He was 78. The Kenner, La., mayor’s office said in a news release that Gibson died at his home on Tuesday.
Gibson, who also coached at Louisville, had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly known as “Lou Gehrig’s disease,” and was fighting it for the past year.
Gibson coached at Kansas State from 1967-74, compiling a 33-52 record.
