A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of a 23-year-old Lawrence man after he didn’t show up in court for his sentencing hearing Friday.

Christopher Coty Maier had earlier pleaded no contest to one count of conspiracy in connection with a robbery last December at Walmart, 3300 Iowa.

He was the seventh person to be charged in connection with the robbery.

Prosecutors accused Maier and four other defendants with serving as lookouts for the robbery, which Lonnie S. Schaefer, 23, and William O. Patterson, 19, are accused of planning and committing.

Patterson, who was accused of pointing a plastic BB gun at Walmart clerks in the robbery and taking money from a register, has pleaded guilty to several charges and received nearly five years in prison.
