6 arrested in weekend saturation patrol

Kansas Highway Patrol troopers arrested six suspected drunken drivers Saturday night as part of a saturation patrol in the Lawrence and Douglas County area. Troopers also wrote 40 citations, 103 warnings and assisted 13 motorists, according to the KHP’s Facebook page. In total, troopers stopped 114 vehicles that night. The KHP uses Kansas Department of Transportation grant money to fund the extra patrols in the area and is trying to have a saturation patrol here once a month.
