St. Pat’s charity auction Saturday

The Lawrence St. Patrick’s Day Parade committee is hosting its annual Charity Benefit Auction on Saturday night at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 6001 Bob Billings Parkway.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., the silent auction begins at 6, and the live auction starts at 7.

A $25 donation at entry is suggested, and includes food and beverages. Maceli’s will cater the event, and O’Malley Beverage of Kansas is sponsoring.

Deb Drummet, one of the auction organizers, said the event historically has raised about $40,000. The Lawrence St. Patrick’s Day Parade has raised more than $600,000 for area charities since its inception in 1988.

Here’s a list of upcoming events for the parade:

• March 2, T-shirt pub crawl, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Conroy’s Pub, 3115 W. Sixth.

• March 4, Irish Road Bowling, 10:30 a.m. at Clinton Lake.

• March 10, Shamrock Shuffle 5K run, 8 a.m., starts at Johnny’s North, just north of the Kansas River Bridge.

• March 10, Poker Run, noon at Slowride Roadhouse, 1350 N. Third St.

• March 11, Queen coronation, 6 p.m. at the Flamingo, 501 N. Ninth St.

• March 17, parade begins at 1 p.m. at South Park and heads north on Massachusetts Street.
