— A federal judge has found a Kansas man competent to stand trial on charges of threatening the president of the United States.

U.S. District Judge J. Thomas Marten made the ruling following a competency hearing Thursday for Michael Scott Ramsey.

Ramsey is charged in a two-count indictment with making threats in 2009 and 2011 against Barack Obama.

The hearing comes after Ramsey underwent a psychological examination and evaluation at a federal medical center. Officials determined he had the ability to understand the proceedings against him and assist in his own defense.

The most egregious probably would continue. Some of the most vile contributors, with the least of worth to add, are the ones that have, in the past, used their own names. Names I can't utter here, or risk getting my post pulled, for some reason or another.

The worst of the bunch are the one's with the most skewed perceptions of reality. They believe themselves to be right, no matter what it is that they say, and no matter how fall it flats upon examination. They would have no shame at their craziness attached to their own name.

I'll put up my name when they make me, I suppose, I wouldn't stop posting. Either way, it's not like anyone here would actually know who I am. Being anonymous on the internet is not a function of listing your true name or not, but rather being behind walls of digital codes, and cut off from the people you're talking to. Using our real names would not eliminate the root cause.

Business owners might find their businesses boycotted simply because they took a pro business stance on a certain issue. Employers might make decisions about employees based on their stated opinions. Employees might quit jobs because they didn't like the politics of their employer. Family turmoil. Husbands pitted against wives and visa versa. All that would have a chilling effect on freedom of speech should the anonymous nature be removed. But the conversation would certainly be more civil.

And he/she collects monthly SS disability checks, food stamps, and housing subsidies while spending their days railing against the government.
