A Leavenworth County judge Friday sentenced a 21-year-old Eudora man to serve one year in prison for threatening a couple with a gun last June in Linwood.

Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson said Jordan Noble had pleaded no contest in January to aggravated assault. Thompson said prosecutors accused Noble of having an altercation with the couple on June 4 at Fro’s Hideout in Linwood. He was also accused of yelling obscenities at the couple outside, pulling out a silver handgun and telling them to “get out of his town or he would shoot them dead.”

Noble said at his sentencing he was under the influence of drugs at the time and did not realize the seriousness of his actions, according to prosecutors. Noble has also been charged with another incident involving a gun in Douglas County the next day.

District Judge Kay Huff in November issued a warrant for Noble’s arrest after he failed to show up for court. In the Douglas County case, he’s accused of pointing a handgun on June 5 at four Lawrence residents who were traveling in a vehicle next to him on Kansas Highway 10 between Lawrence and Eudora.
