Lawrence man injured Thursday as semi jackknifes on Kansas Turnpike

A 58-year-old Lawrence man was injured in an accident Thursday morning when a semitrailer truck lost control on the Kansas Turnpike east of Lawrence.

The truck jackknifed across eastbound lanes five miles east of Lawrence about 6:15 a.m., according to the Kansas Turnpike Authority. Terry Gunselman of Lawrence, driving a 2002 Honda Accord, was unable to stop and struck the side of the semitrailer. He was transported to a local hospital in a Leavenworth County ambulance. His condition was not available.
