Andrew Wright was presented with the Eagle Scout Award at an Eagle Court of Honor conducted by Eudora Boy Scout Troop 64 on Dec. 2 at the Eudora Methodist Church.

Three Lawrence residents — Jacob Larson, Amber Rea and Phyllis Schaeffer — are among Emporia State University graduate students who received scholarships for the 2012-13 school year. The students are all taking courses through ESU’s adaptive special education program to eventually instruct students with mild to moderate mental and/or physical disabilities.

Carmen Elisa Orth-Alfie, of Lawrence, has earned a Master of Library and Information Science, from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
