Topeka Caleb Holland and Thomas Bachert scored 16 points apiece and the Veritas boys basketball team stayed undefeated with a 54-42 victory over Topeka Cair Paravel on Tuesday.
The Eagles (6-0) shot 53 percent from the field as three Veritas players — Holland, Bachert and Andrew Currier (12 points) — reached double figures. The team’s only blemish was a 2-for-11 mark at the foul line.
“Other than the free throws, we played a real good game against a real scrappy team,” Veritas coach Gary Hammer said.
Ben Higgins led Cair Paravel with 14 points.
Veritas will host Manhattan CHIEF on Saturday.
