A man was transported by air ambulance to Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., after a fall from a balcony in the 1200 block of Ohio Street early Friday morning, according to Mike Frizzell of Operation 100 News, the Journal-World's news partner.

Crews responded shortly after 2 a.m. after reports that a man fell from a third-floor balcony and was critically injured.

A LifeStar air ambulance landed at Memorial Stadium and transported the man about 3 a.m.

No other information was available from officials about the incident.

they weren't responding on the report of a man falling from a balcony... they were actually responding to an unresponsive subject lying on the ground (according to radio traffic)... it was later discovered that it was the result of a fall.

At 2:58 a.m., LifeStar went in route from Memorial Stadium to the University of Kansas Medical Center. Radio traffic indicated that the injured person is a college aged male with critical injuries. He was reportedly intoxicated and said to have fallen from a third floor balcony.
