From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for Dec. 2, 1972:

Music teacher Jack Brookshire of Baldwin High School said today that the school was initiating a fund-raising drive for band uniforms. The music program was planning to appeal to Baldwin clubs and band parents to help raise $10,000 to $15,000 so that the 105 band members could have new uniforms next year. The uniforms in use were only eight years old, but because they had originally been purchased for a combined junior and senior high school band, roughly half of them were too small for senior high school students to wear.
