Emergency response training offered

Douglas County Emergency Management will provide free training sessions for participants to become community response team members.

The training will take place Sept. 21 to Sept. 23 at Mustard Seed Church, 700 Wakarusa Drive. Basic skills covered in CERT training include light search and rescue, fire safety, medical care and disaster psychology. It will culminate in a mock disaster scenario.

The class runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 21, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 22, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 23.
