A 23-year-old Topeka woman linked to a crime spree earlier this year that included robberies in Lawrence, Topeka and Wichita received a 29-month prison term on Monday, according to U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom.

Brittany R. Holt pleaded guilty in June to one count of aiding and abetting armed robbery after admitting she drove co-defendant David B. Johnson, 26, of Lockhart, Texas, away from an armed robbery he committed at a Wichita Subway shop on Jan. 28. She eventually led Sedgwick County Sheriff’s officers and other law enforcement on a chase that lasted 30 minutes and reached speeds up to 100 mph. The chase ended in Butler County, and Holt and Johnson were arrested. Officers recovered a 12-gauge shotgun, a box of shells and money from the robbery, according to Grissom’s office.

Johnson received a 14-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to five counts of armed robbery and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm after a felony conviction. He admitted to committing robberies in Topeka and Lawrence days before the Wichita robbery.

In the Lawrence armed robbery, on Jan. 26, Holt and Johnson were accused of stealing from Cirilla’s, 1206 W. 23rd St. Police said a man with a handgun took $108 in cash from a clerk and a woman allegedly took lingerie, an adult toy and a set of bondage equipment.
