From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for Aug. 17, 1972:

Officials of Agency Records Control, Inc. of Houston, Tex. announced this week that they were planning to open a regional office in Lawrence. The company, which was to employ 65 people here, had been founded in 1963 to provide data-processing services to independent insurance agents. The company was currently providing services to more than 2,000 insurance agents in the U.S., with more than 450 to be serviced from the Lawrence office. ARC officials said that they had been studying various cities for their regional site and had chosen Lawrence "because of its central location within the region, its communications capabilities, the nearness to a major air facility, the highway network, postal services and the attractive environment that Lawrence offers."
