Energy Conservation Fair set for Sept. 22

The city of Lawrence will host the Lawrence Energy Conservation Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 22 at Holcom Park Recreation Center at 2700 W. 27th Street. Local builders, architects, government agencies and others will present exhibits showing how to lower utility bills or increase energy efficiency.

There will also be electric cars, either a Chevrolet Volt or Nissan LEAF, that adults can test-drive.

The event is free to the public.

In conjunction with the fair will be the Sustainable Homes Tour, which features homes constructed with renewable-resource technologies or energy-efficient methods and appliances. Buses for the tour will leave at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. from the Energy Conservation Fair.
