Lawrence man, 28, injured in one of series of fights Thursday morning outside The Granada

A 28-year-old Lawrence man was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital early Thursday after he was injured in a fight outside The Granada, 1020 Mass.

Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence police spokesman, said officers were called about 1:50 a.m.. The man had been knocked to the ground by one suspect and then kicked by a second suspect. The victim had injuries to his face and head, McKinley said. No one has been arrested.

This was one in a series of fights outside the nightclub, McKinley said.

Another fight was reported minutes later in the 900 block of Massachusetts Street, and police were trying to determine if it was related to the fights outside of The Granada. Two men were arguing, and a 30-year-old woman stepped in between them to break up the argument when one of the men hit her. The suspect ran from the scene and left the area in a vehicle before officers arrived, McKinley said.
