The National Weather Service had issued "stockmen's warnings" because the calving season was underway and the forecast could be harmful to young livestock.
- "Everyone Is Invited To Hear Our Own Robert Dole, Senator From Kansas," proclaimed an ad in today's newspaper. The Senator was scheduled to speak at Kansas University's Union Ballroom as part of the Vickers Memorial Lecture Series.
