Book review: ‘Nice Shot, Cupid’ clears up myth
Hades, the king of the underworld, helps Cupid find love, and in this book, “Nice Shot Cupid” by Kate McMullan, he tells you how it happened.
This path to love starts when a beautiful mortal named Psyche unintentionally uses her amazing beauty to stop people from going to Aphrodite’s temples. Now, Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, doesn’t take kindly to this. So she sends her son, Cupid, to zing (or shoot) Psyche with an arrow.
Don’t get the wrong impression about Cupid. He is the god of love, but he isn’t as handsome as you would expect.
Aphrodite wants Psyche to fall in love with the ugliest mortal ever as punishment. Aphrodite’s plan does not go as hoped.
When Cupid goes to zing Psyche, he falls in love with her himself. As you can imagine, this makes Aphrodite even angrier.
You will want to read “Nice Shot Cupid” — book four in the Myth-O-Mania series — to hear more about Cupid and Psyche’s quest for love … but don’t tell Aphrodite!!
