From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for April 22, 1987:

Developers of a South Iowa Street retail complex including a six-screen movie theater were given unanimous approval by the Lawrence City Commission to begin the project. The site plan for the 1,400-seat theater complex and 27,440-square-foot retail complex was required to meet six conditions addressing such issues as drainage, parking, lighting, and landscaping.
