Alex Gutesha, KU men 10th at golf meet

? Alex Gutesha improved two positions on the final day of the Cardinal Intercollegiate to tie for 10th place, finishing with a two-round score of even-par to lead the Kansas University men’s golf team at the event hosted by Louisville at the Cardinal Club Golf Course.

Kansas also improved in the standings as a team, moving from 14th to 10th place in the final round of an 18-team event that was shortened to 36 holes due to rain Monday. The Jayhawks posted a 298 Tuesday, led by Gutesha’s round of 73, which earned him his third career top-10 finish.

Arkansas-Little Rock won the team title with a 573, and UALR’s Nicklaus Benton was medalist at 137.

Other Kansas results: Chris Gilbert, tied for 33rd, 75-74–149; Doug Quinones, tied for 62nd, 74-80–154; and Paul Harris (79-76) and Dylan McClure (80-75), tied for 65th, 155.
