Lawrence police Monday were investigating comments someone made in a phone conversation with a Douglas County District Court clerk. Police spokeswoman Kim Murphree said the court clerk’s office called emergency dispatchers about 9:45 a.m. Monday to report that “a person had called and expressed frustration with the disposition of a case and made comments that the clerk found disturbing enough to notify law enforcement.”

Murphree said officers were still investigating the case and that police at this time would not release further details about the call or other information.

Did you guys stop to think (well, probably not) that the police haven't told EVERYTHING that was said???? Dec is probably correct in that the clerk does receive calls from people upset, so if this one was reported (and the other not), maybe this one is just a bit more threatening ???/

Nah, that would make too much sense - let's just blame the victim and the police.

What is there to investigate? I'm sure those clerks always, receive calls from people frustrated with the disposition of cases. Why would they mention this if they were not going to tell the story. Just another tactic to keep society living in fear.

Depending on what was said, I might agree with you. But if there was a shooting or a bomb placed and then we found out about the call, everyone (including you) would be raising h*11 about the police not taking anything seriously. Or crucifiying the Clerk for not reporting the incident.

Which way do you want it??? To me, better to look into it and find it harmless than to ignore it and maybe face a bad situation.
