Lawrence police investigating comments made via phone with Douglas County District Court clerk

Lawrence police Monday were investigating comments someone made in a phone conversation with a Douglas County District Court clerk. Police spokeswoman Kim Murphree said the court clerk’s office called emergency dispatchers about 9:45 a.m. Monday to report that “a person had called and expressed frustration with the disposition of a case and made comments that the clerk found disturbing enough to notify law enforcement.”

Murphree said officers were still investigating the case and that police at this time would not release further details about the call or other information.
