Classic cars, hot rods, motorcycles and more soon will be on display in downtown Lawrence for the Rev It Up Hot Rod Hullabaloo, a benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Douglas County.

The car show is an annual festival of vehicles, food and music that draws hundreds of participants from Lawrence, Topeka, the Kansas City metro area and elsewhere, as owners of smooth rides get a chance to show their stuff.

The Hullabaloo is set for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 8 at South Park, south of 11th and Massachusetts streets. Suggested donations are $5 per person.

Attendees will be given stickers to wear, entitling them to discounts from participating stores and restaurants downtown.
