A 28-year-old Lawrence man was arrested in possession of $20,000 worth of drugs Tuesday night, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s office booking log. The man was arrested on one count of cultivating and distributing a controlled substance, one count of obstructing the legal process, and one count of possessing a drug without a tax stamp. The man is being held without bail. The Lawrence Police Department declined to comment on the ongoing investigation. The Journal-World does not typically identify suspects unless they are formally charged.

You don't sell black market drugs, do you? The black market drives prices well above where they should be. I suspect the man was growing some weed. Yeah, a plant worth $20K...only on the black market. God really screwed up leaving that stuff laying around for humans to consume, didn't he?

I saw on an early news show this morning that a kindergartner brought his mama's crack pipe & some baggies of rock to school for show & tell. He did the showing & the teacher did the telling.

If I purchase the Tax Stamp, can I legally possess the drug? Just wondering.

The stamp is interesting, do you wave your 5th amendment rights when purchasing one? Do they warn you that you are waving your rights when you purchase the stamp? Could create. A problem for the State which was not intended.

There should have been $100,000 worth for sale at walmart, right next to the cocaine and acid.

Amen to that. Prohibition is a sham and we're all being victimized by a corrupted justice system.
