Examples of two local sex offenders who could not be located

Anthony Joseph Jake's Kansas Registered Offender picture from 2008. Jake, 31, was convicted of aggravated sexual battery in Douglas County in 2004, after breaking into a Lawrence woman’s apartment and sexually assaulting her while she was sleeping. Jake spent four years in prison and was released in 2008. On the Kansas registry, the most recent address — from 2008 — for Jake is a post office box in New Mexico. Jake, however, is not listed on the New Mexico sex offender registry. Jake is required to register until 2014.

Curtis Eugene Mongold's Kansas Registered Offender picture form 2010. Mongold, 49, was convicted of attempted aggravated indecent liberties with a child in Douglas County in 2001 after sexually assaulting a Lawrence girl. Mongold spent four years in prison and was released in 2005. He notified Kansas authorities earlier this year that he was moving to California, though he is not registered on that state’s offender registry. Mongold is required to register for life.
