Veritas volleyball falls in Onega finals

? Veritas Christian’s volleyball team went 3-2 on Saturday at the Onaga Quad Tournament, reaching the finals before falling to host Onaga, 25-22, 17-25, 8-25.

Veritas (5-2) defeated Heritage Christian (25-18, 25-18) and Seabury Academy twice (25-16, 25-19; 25-14, 25-17).

Sarah McDermott led the Eagles with 30 service points, 25 kills and six aces. Teri Huslig added 29 service points, 10 kills and seven aces.

Other stats of interest: Abi Bartlow 18 service points, nine aces, seven kills; Ali Dover 16 service points, ace, three kills; Kristen Finger eight service points, three aces, nine kills; Amanda Herington two kills; Mariah Barclay 10 service points; Lacey Billings five service points, ace, three kills; Mattie LaFountain five service points, ace; Abby Bond, Ashley Schlesener also contributed.

Veritas will play host to Manhattan CHIEF and Seabury Academy on Tuesday at the Eudora Community Center.
