I've always wanted to go to this, but never been able. I wonder if they've ever considered not always holding it the same weekend as the largest confab for musicians and (arguably) heavy music lovers in the state (the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield). I know Winfield draws almost 1 person in 20 living in Lawrence, and I tend to think I'm not the only person whose interests overlap.

...Did you just call Winfield a "heavy music" festival?

I was referring to them fans as heavy lovers of music, although now that I think about it, many of us are also 'heavy music lovers' in the sense of overfilling our bib overalls a bit.
