Man accused of using vehicle as weapon

October 22, 2011

A Douglas County Sheriff’s officer arrested a 40-year-old Kansas City, Mo., man on an aggravated assault charge Friday morning for an alleged incident that occurred Thursday involving a rural Eudora man.

Sgt. Steve Lewis, a sheriff’s spokesman, said the suspect was accused of using a motor vehicle as a weapon, but no one was injured. It occurred about 10 p.m. Thursday in the 900 section of East 2300 Road, and according to jail records, an officer arrested the suspect early Friday morning at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

The suspect remained in custody Friday afternoon without bond as prosecutors make a decision about filing formal charges. The Journal-World generally does not identify suspects unless they are formally charged.

This is like saying : A white male robbed a gas station. What's the point without a name tied to the article. It's just a space taker. Good tactic LJW..

This is a perfect example of why we should ban cars! The N. A. A., National Automobile Association, is obviously one of the most powerful lobbiest organizations in the world. Why does anyone need an auto that goes faster than 75 miles an hour? Where is Michael Bloomberg and his Mayors Against Illegal Cars on this issue? This is a travesty! Come on, Obama! Get tough on illegal cars!

Sounds like this is what should have happened to the guy that tried to ram my wife and I out on the turnpike a week ago. Still don't know why I didn't call the police on that idiot...
